Book synopsis/description:

In the furnace, while coals are burning, the ash starts to cover them after sometime. Though the smoke is no more visible, coals silently continue to burn from within. This process is called "ujeacho murmuro" in Konknni. Murmure, the plural form of 'murmuro' has been chosen as the title of this anthology by Dr. (Fr.) Pratap Naik, SJ. The book consists of 55 poems, of which 11 poems convey the meaning and message of Christmas.

Discrimination, caste system, double standards, injustice, the attitude of looking down upon others, pagan practices in the name of religion, life without principles and values, the hard life of different category of workers who serve society and other issues are the themes of these poems. They kindle in the mind and heart many thoughts and feelings which are best expressed by the poet through his poems.

Dr. (Fr.) Pratap also expresses his views about his own Christian community and how they have drifted away from the teachings of Jesus. The poet has published and presented these poems in various Konknni periodicals and poets' conferences, besides being broadcast from Panaji and Mangaluru All India Radio Stations.
