book synopsis/description:
A wise man said, “If you are smart, you will turn your tragedy into an autobiography.” That amazing thought was the genesis of LOFT.
LOFT, the acronym for Lack of F***king Talent, is a picture book which tries to capture this glorious yet enigmatic game from the perspective of amateur golfers. The narration is in the form of a rhyme that sings paeans about the herculean travails of the golfer as he traverses the arduous journey of putting a static ball into a visibly positioned hole fluttering with a flag at a distance which a naked eye can spot without any assistance from the Hubble Telescope. The book is divided into eighteen (no surprises there) chapters, which covers various aspects that an amateur golfer experiences on the course, and including his mental state as it slowly disintegrates toward a state of derangement and delusions.
about the author:
Devendra Rath is an IT professional, an amateur golfer and an enthusiast artist. He has been playing this game for many years, and in the intervening years, his game has changed by leaps and bounds. He started bad and now he has become worse. As the illustrator of this book, he is constantly dreaming about pictures to “draw”.
Raman Kalia is a marketing professional. And a much grounded person just like his game. He talks more about golf than actually play. His only wish is to meet the inventor of this glorious game and wriggle his neck.
